GAITHERSBURG, MD; July 15, 2003-Recovery Point Systems (RPS), the Mid-Atlantic region's only Integrated Disaster Recovery Site, (IDRS) announced today that it has entered into a formal agreement with DBSi of Bethlehem Pennsylvania whereby DBSi will provide roll-back end user recovery and hot site services to RPS subscribers. DBSi, a leading provider of disaster recovery services, offers a full range of work area and data center recovery services, as well as a diverse array of managed hosting and data storage solutions.
Under the new arrangement, each company's subscribers will have option to designate the facilities of the other as an alternate recovery site, which will be usable in the event that the primary subscription site is unavailable. The agreement also facilitates geographically dispersed data mirroring services across redundant sites to provide a solution for subscribers with secure, high availability requirements. Subscribers will now have the benefit of convenient, primary recovery facilities paired with the additional security of an out-of-region back-up site.
"At approximately 180 miles away, DBSi offers a great combination of security and accessibility," said Marc Langer, President of RPS. "Coupled with our upcoming 115,000 foot facility in Germantown, MD, we see this partnership as an excellent enhancement to the stock of comprehensive disaster facilities we are building in the Mid-Atlantic region."
According to William Bachenberg, CEO of DBSi, "this relationship provides additional geographic diversity and recovery options for our client base. We are enthusiastic about partnering with RPS because our organizations share a similar customer-focused philosophy and we provide a personal level of attention that differentiates us some of the larger players in this industry."
