What is an “Integrated Disaster Recovery Site” and why is Recovery Point unique?

An Integrated Disaster Recovery Site (“IDRS”) is unique because it provides all of the prerequisites for a successful recovery in a single, secure location. The critical tools provided are redundant, high availability voice services, replacement computing technology with associated technical support, fully equipped office resources for displaced personnel, back-up data storage in both electronic and tape-based formats, high-speed network facilities for WAN/LAN and Internet services and a secure data center environment.

The purpose of an IDRS is to integrate the disciplines traditionally required from assorted vendors in different locations. The goal of this integration is to eliminate the risks assocatied with vendor management, traffic, weather, and other unforeseen obstacles during a crisis. The result is an efficient, single-source solution.
