Randy Thompson – Director of Operations
Randy Thompson is a nationally recognized figure in the disaster recovery industry. He began his career with IBM in 1969 and joined Recovery Point in 1999, after 30 years of service at IBM. Randy’s career at IBM spanned a wide array of diverse disciplines in the services sector, from mainframe hardware maintenance to software support. In 1992, he was tapped to join the newly formed Business Recovery Services group, now IBM’s BCRS unit, and managed IBM’s Hot Site and End-User recovery centers for a number of years.
Under Randy’s leadership, IBM developed many of the recovery services and processes that are standard industry practice today. Randy’s final position with IBM was Global Development Manager for End-User Services. In this role, he had worldwide responsibility for program development, customer satisfaction and profitability.
Randy is one of a handful of individuals in the United States with extensive, hands-on experience recovering complex customer environments. He has final responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Recovery Point. Randy’s in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the technology and processes required to achieve successful client engagements underpins Recovery Point’s outstanding client support teams and processes.
