Data de-duplication/compression technologies from a variety of companies are now firmly established as a way to reduce production storage costs and replicate critical data to remote sites. Recovery Point provides the network facilities to vault critical data directly to recovery storage infrastructure provisioned at the Hot Site where it can quickly be recovered to a customer’s specific Hot Site equipment configurations and presented to fully equipped end user Work Area positions. Data is also copied across Recovery Point’s dark fiber network to secondary storage infrastructure at a secondary site. As a final measure of protection, Recovery Point will automatically create tape backups and place them in secure off-site storage.
