SOC2 audits improve upon and replace the former SAS 70 Type II standard and require a service provider to provide assurance that its internal controls relating to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and the privacy of its systems meet pre-defined AICPA Trust Services principles and criteria. SOC2 has become the objective certification standard for service providers.
